Trip Kitchen & Bar opens 5th October 2013.
Selin Kiazim, former head chef at Kopapa in Seven Dials, sister restauarant to Providores and Tapa Room in Marylebone, is behind Trip Kitchen & Bar, a year-long pop-up restaurant under the arches on Acton Mews by Haggerston station. Turkish Cypriot influences are felt in dishes like brown shrimp Kaygana, spicy red lentil koftes and pomegranate-glazed crispy lamb breast served with yoghurt, one of the sharing plates on the dinner menu. With aspirations to run her own restaurant, this pop-up from the former finalist on the BBC's Young Chef of the Year will be an interesting toe-in-the-water experiment and follows pop-up restaurants at the Dead Dolls Club and at The Rooftop Cafe. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Tuesday through Saturday, for Sunday brunch and drinks on Monday, there are no bookings so just turn up.
