They have given us great food-focussed gastropubs with The Botanist, The Gun, The Jugged Hare and others besides but with Yum Som the ETM Group have designs on your lunch break, offering oodles of noodles and Asian-style salads. City workers who are tight on time and want something straight-off-the-shelf should head to the top of Leadenhall Street, opposite The Cheesegrater, for a Som-O Classic: prawns and rice noodles with pomelo, Asian herbs, greens, peanuts and sweet lime. Other choices include chicken with soba noodles and avocado, Nam Tok Beef (seared beef with rice noodles) and 1,000 Smiles - aubergine, soba noodles, mango, crispy shallots, Asian herbs and sesame. Protein-packed small pots mix eggs and spinach, kiln roast salmon, crayfish or egg noodles with chilli and peanuts. And there are fresh fruit pots, pastries and cold-pressed juices from PRESS plus top quality Union Coffee and Teapigs teas.
