108 Garage has proven to be a big hit, with Fay Maschler giving the Notting Hill bar and restaurant four stars when it first opened in a converted garage . The Evening Standard restaurant critic heaped praised on the "butter-poached cock crab" sharing it with her dining companion only "because words cannot convey its astonishing freshness ennobled by dairy". Giles Coren, too, was impressed by "the kind of chef who comes along only once or twice in a decade". The chef in question is Chris Denney who was previously at Viajante and answered a Gumtree ad by owner Luca Longobardi. Working with architect Gabor Gallov ( Darkhorse E20 , Blanchette Soho ) they "have conjured effortless cool in bare brick and corrugated metal" (Telegraph) as a backdrop for Denney's stylish and deliberately bold food.
