Duke of WellingtonOne of Young's more stylish bars, the Duke of Wellington is a decent traditional pub on Portobello Road. On Saturdays when Portobello Market is on, the pub gets packed with shoppers, traders and tourists who, on sunny days, spill out on to the street. A makeover in 2013 has given this well known landmark, a feature of the Portobello Road for decades, a spruce up and an improved menu with a selection of small plates and bar snacks or sharing boards including choices of chorizo and black pudding Scotch egg, pork belly lollipops and potted beef cheeks with Meantime pale ale jelly and mini Yorkies. For something more substantial try the poached sea trout sandwich filled with rocket and red onion creme fraiche or ale battered haddock served with tartare sauce with beef dripping chips as an optional extra. There's the 50-seat Finch's Dining Room upstairs, classic cocktails and a wine list to choose from as well as craft and draught beers.
