A short hop below Frog, Adam Handling's restaurant in Covent Garden, is Eve Bar, the chef's first stand-alone cocktail joint. He's brought in talented mixologist Sam Orrock (previously of Scout), to manage the basement bar on Southampton Street, mixing up beetroot, black currant and honey cocktails with a flourish of dry ice. As you descend the stairs the words, "resist everything except temptation" in red neon give you fair warning. The Garden of Eden theme continues with leaves scattered along your path, stained glass windows and apples adorning the books-as-shelves. Throw in chorizo croquettes and other superior bar snacks and you have a cocktail den that's hard to resist.
