Visitor Information
The King's Arms is a relaxed, cosy pub with a faithful local clientele and a rather eccentric - but traditional - décor. Located on the Tower Bridge end of Tooley Street, the pub has welcomed Lord Mayor Boris Johnson into its doors on more than one occasion. It's also not afraid to keep up with the youth of today, and the place gets busy on the weekends with resident DJs spinning tracks and the comedy club Mirth Control taking over an upstairs room on Saturdays. On Monday's there's a popular Quiz Night while on Tuesday drinkers can get half-price food at the Ribs, Rumps & Rhythms evening. The bar menu is appealing although a little expensive - that said, many praise The Kings Arms for its burgers, which are said to be excellent. Sports fans are welcome to watch games on big screens and the overall atmosphere of the place is great - made better by the interesting fittings and the crimson red roof. Staff are extremely relaxed and friendly, which can lead to a little wait at the bar, while wine only comes in large glasses. But the general feel is positive here - definitely one to visit if you're in the area.
