Once an industrial powerhouse, one of the premier cricket bat makers in the country and an air raid shelter during the Second World War, the historic Bussey Building in Peckham Rye was saved from demolition in 2007 and is now a creative art and work space equipped with a warehouse-style club, cafe and theatre. Home of The CLF Art Cafe (which boasts the tag '21st Century Church of the Chill'), the multi-floored post-industrial brick block of a building hosts regular music and club nights, as well as a series of theatre, film, comedy, art and dance events. Club promoters Secretsundaze and open air cinema masters Rooftop Film Club make use of the Bussey Building's major pull - a 5,000 square foot rooftop with striking views over London.
