Sitting above the Tabard pub in the charming Chiswick neighbourhood, the Chiswick Playhouse is an intimate theatre that aims to bring West End quality shows to west London for a fraction of the price. Formerly known as the Tabard Theatre, the venue opened in 1985 and has acted as an entertainment venue ever since, staging everything from experimental work to Shakespeare as well as stand-up comedy from the likes of Dara Ó Briain, Al Murray and Harry Hill. In its new form as the Chiswick Playhouse, the theatre presents its own in-house productions featuring a line-up of West End stars.
