Visitor Information
One of London's most famous fringe pub theatres, the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington was founded in 1979 by Charlie Hanson and is a welcome home to various new and experimental dramatic work. It provided a stage for Mischief Theatre's premier of the Olivier award-winning, The Play That Goes Wrong, before it transferred to Trafalgar Studios in 2013. Each year, it is home to the London Horror Festival, three weeks of horror in theatre and the performing arts, between October and the beginning of November. The place is also a popular pub for locals, especially students from the nearby City University.
