In the car park behind Waterstones, accessible via Kensington Place and on the junction of Kensington Church Street, you'll find one of London's largest farmers' markets. But despite this Notting Hill Farmer's Market a well-kept secret and not half as well known as it's famous neighbour, Portobello Road Market - which is in the opposite direction as you come out of the tube. A good all-round selection of stalls with plenty of organic produce keeps well heeled locals well-stocked. The popularity of this area among those who can afford it (city bankers on the whole) isn't hard to see and if you have a spare Saturday morning to while away this is a lovely way to spend it. Pop across to the Portobello Road Market and you'll soon see how easy it is to spend the day aimlessly strealing around.
