Visitor Information
Prior to the creation of the Dalston Eastern Curve Garden, which first opened in July 2010, the land was a derelict site where an old railway line used to be but whose tracks were taken up in 1965. Now the former railway line - which closed in 1944 - is a little oasis within East London. The garden is by run by a lovely group of people, and the day to day management is run as a social enterprise set up by local residents who have been involved with the garden since it was first created. There are plans, put forward by Criterion Capital, who have loaned part of the land since 2010, to redevelop the garden as part of their planned demolition and redevelopment of the Kingsland Shopping Centre. You can read more about their plans and see images at www.kingslandconsultation.com and you can let Criterion Capital know what you think by phone: 0845 262 0138 or email: info@KingslandConsultation.com.
