This boozer in Marylebone is the first pub from prolific restaurateur Claudio Pulze, the man behind such famous eateries as Aubergine and Zafferano. The cross-over is a little confusing but Claudio obviously thought, well, if Gordon can get away with it... The result is a classic looking pub but (strangely) with an all-Italian staff and, as you'd expect with the Pulze pedigree, good quality food. Pub grub staples like pie and mash and beef burgers are served but cooked to above-pub levels. House specialities include simple but effective dishes like fish and potato wedges, sausages and mash as well as steak sandwich. An extensive list of beers includes local brews from Greenwich as well as their very own honey-ed Beehive Brew bitter, made with mead and brewed at the Brew Wharf in Borough Market.
