The grandiose interior of this spacious basement dining room has been described as "Versace on acid", but don't let the glitter daunt you. Known for its grazing menus of up to 10 trim courses and quintessential English afternoon tea delights, the decor adds to the experience of the rich but delicate food of a maven kitchen. The prices are a bargain for the level of quality of the food. In addition, the globe-trotting wine list affords an exhaustive selection that distracts from the lack of a view. The restaurant underwent some glitches in its adjustment stages, but this, we have on good faith, can be easily resolved with time. Paolo Saba is the Head Chef.
