Just metres away from the shopping mayhem of Oxford Street this branch of Auberge in St Christopher's Place is a refuge from the heaving crowds. Situated in this delightful pedestrian square, the restaurant offers an affordable modern French menu. Mains are a choice of typically French fare like fresh mussels, chargrilled salmon fillet or sirloin steak served with bearnaise or pepper sauce, French fries on the side. Pizza and pasta dishes are also on offer for even less. Below the 100 seat restaurant with pavement seating is a well-hidden basement bar available for private hire. With its wooden tables and floors, set off by leather bound chairs, this is a pleasant place to stop off, a world away from the army of shoppers on Oxford Street.
