Authentic Indian eating experience inspired by regional "thieves' markets".
One of the capital’s few Indian restaurants with its head office in India, Chor Bizarre offers arguably the best and the most authentic Indian eating experience in London. Where London’s other gourmet Indian restaurants make desperate moves to escape from the ethno-kitsch image of the curry house, Chor Bizarre embraces it wholeheartedly. Named after a “thieves’ market” (“chor bazaar”) the restaurant’s dishes are appropriately all-encompassing include Tak-A-Tak Tawa (street) cooking. The décor is similarly eclectic with items selected from various Indian bazaars. From Kashmiri carpets to colonial cartoons, the furniture, walls and ceiling combine to create a cornucopia of Indian antique chic. Chor also makes a huge effort to provide an all-round eating experience – culinary advice is dispensed along with the food, small gifts are often distributed to dining couples, while each dish on the menu is carefully paired up with a selection of wines designed to act as the perfect complement. Don’t expect your average curry-house prices - such attentions don’t come cheap - but do expect great Indian food, authentic surroundings and fantastic service.
Best for:
Kashmiri carpets, colonial cartoons, Indian curries, street cooking and samples from the 'Wazwan'.

Chefs at Chor are among the select few who know the secrets of the famous 36-course Kashmiri ‘Wazwan’ feast.
