We were founded in 1962 by the Choudhury family, originally hailing from Bangal, who rapidly went on to become a legend within the Bangali community. Students, politicians and many a dreamer ate our 'taste of home' and even found shelter in this very building before going on to forge the country we now call Bangladesh.
Over many years we gave our own twist to traditional Bangali dishes, which came to be loved by city gents and barrow boys alike ?recipes which defined a typical curry house men u up and down the country...we trained many of the original chefs, after all. Our food is born from a region that was a crossroads for Persian scholars, Afghan traders, Arab adventurers and English East India men all throwing their unique spirit into the pot.
This is the taste of Dil Chad, heartfelt food cooked in our kitchen since '62.
