Visitor Information
Centrally located on London's New Kent Road, a short walk from the Elephant and Castle tube station, is Habesha, an Ethiopian restaurant just oozing authenticity. This relaxed and vibrant dining room has a lively atmosphere extremely well suited to the typically laid back, inclusive style of eating particular to East Asia. Much care has gone in to making Habesha's menu live up to the much loved cuisine of home, from the sourcing of typical ingredients such as mitmita seasoning and teff flour to the rustic serving style with stewed dishes served with injera - a bread native to Ethiopia and Eritrea, used to pick up food by hand. On the drinks menu not only will you find a selection of juices, soft drinks and European wines but drinks direct from Africa too; native brewed beers, honey wine, mint tea and, an ideal choice for a lazy afternoon, the typical Ethiopian coffee ceremony can be enjoyed here too.
