Between Shaftesbury Avenue and Charing Cross Road, in the centre of London's bustling West End, is Leon de Bruxelles, a thoroughly continental restaurant in every respect. First opened in 1893 in Brussels, the original Chez L?on went from strength to strength for over a decade before sister restaurants began popping up all over Paris, with a flagship soon established on no less than the Champs-?lys?es. This London branch follows in the footsteps of its forbears by serving delicious Belgian specialties in a chic brasserie setting - metro tiling, bentwood chairs, marble topped tables. Of course mussels, served en cocotte, en papillote, au gratin and a la plancha are at the heart of the L?on de Bruxelles menu, however you'll also find a host of other Belgian meat and fish specialties, including Flemish carbonnade and Tomatoe aux crevettes. And of course, Belgian waffles with chocolate sauce and ice cream are the perfect end.
