Set on the South Bank, moments from world-famous London attractions like the IMAX, London Eye and Royal Festival Hall, The Archduke restaurant and wine bar is a local landmark in itself, set in to the old railway arches surrounding Waterloo Station. The first London restaurant to open in this area, The Archduke has gone through several incarnations since 1979 but is still as fresh as ever with sleek, simple furniture set against the old bare brick walls and contemporary glass frontage. Jazz music gently floats through speakers, performed six nights a week live in the bar, as diners indulge in comforting modern European cuisine including excellent steaks (it's owned by the steakhouse Black and Blue group) and simple roast chicken served with your choice of sides dishes. The view of the London Eye from the terrace is spectacular and worth lingering over.
