The Hackney Pearl opened in December 2009.
We want to make it the best local bar in London, serving great drinks, food and coffee to the locals of Hackney Wick. Somewhere to meet for a drinks, drop in for coffee, leave messages for friends & neighbours, escape the studio, hang out, read the books, grab a bite, pick up a bottle for home or stay and enjoy it here.
Nothing fancy- just good & tasty & friendly. Keep it simple and do it well.
The interior is a work in progress. Think Gran's kitchen meets continental bar. (We like to think we're a bit cool. But we're probably not all that). Things will appear, some will stay, some will change. It will grow its own identity.
We hope that The Hackney Pearl will live up to it's name and become a lustrous gem nestled in a rough exterior.
