Everyone, from beginners to professionals, can learn the disappearing artform of book art at the London Centre for Book Arts, a unique place where people can access equipment and expertise to explore the medium practiced by artists like Ed Ruscha, John Cage, Richard Long and William Blake. The centre, set up by book artist Simon Goode in Fish Island, East London in January 2013, holds classes and workshops in paper making, letterpress, book binding and finishing - everything you need to know to create a book. As the centre's founder Simon Goode puts it, being able to create your own books, from start to finish, is a "radical concept" today. As well as offering courses and workshops the centre is a place where artists can work with hard to find specialist equipment and exchange ideas. The website www.londoncentreforbookarts.org gives full course and workshop details.
