Hip, independent bike company founded in 2002 in the quiet Tokyo suburb of Yanaka, Tokyobike made its way to Shoreditch in 2012 and to Fitzrovia three years after that. Designed to be light for comfort over speed, the Toykobike is an urban machine and its sleek lines make it a natural fit for this part of town. The original Shoreditch store houses a workshop in the basement where new bikes are made and old bikes serviced. Bikes can be personalised and customised - they have a Liberty print bike by Grayson Perry - and come in a range of models including a l imited edition single speed bike originally designed for guests at Ace Hotel London. As well as the bikes they have cycling accessories, leather bound books, bags, reflective spray and lucky cat bike bells for sale.
