This legendary building sits inconspicuously in the exclusive area of St. Johns Wood. Steeped in Rock‘n’Roll history, the Beatles infamously bashed out 80% of their records within the four walls of this studio.
Built in 1830 as a private house, it began studio operations in 1931 recording the top orchestras of the day. Today, it’s notorious for its film music scores. ‘Lord of the Rings’ is a recent epic recorded there.
Abbey Road Studios was only opened to the public once in 1983 so don’t expect to see inside. However, an excellent view can be obtained from the pavement. Housed in a non-descript white building with grey trim, the building is often besieged by tourists desperate to steal a glimpse.
The zebra crossing out the front is the paramount appeal. Many a visitor has their photo taken modishly ambling across.
