The steel Hungerford railway bridge which enables trains to pass from Waterloo to Charing Cross is flanked by two cable pedestrian bridges. Built in 2002, the Golden Jubilee Bridges were so called in honour of the fiftieth anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's accession however they're popularly known as the Hungerford Footbridges. Crossing alongside the trains you get some spectacular views across London, with the London Eye, County Hall and the Houses of Parliament on one side, and the Southbank Centre, Royal Festival Hall and over to St Paul's Cathedral on the other.
