The old style farm yard at Hayes Hill Farm and modern dairy and arable at Holyfield Hall Farm, situated on the same site, make up Lee Valley Park Farms. When Hayes Hill Farm was opened by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1976 it was the first farm in the area to open to the general public. A traditional farm set on a 17 acre site, visitors can meet a variety of different animals including pigs, goats, chickens and rare breed farm animals. Spring is the time to see new born lambs and piglets. At the Pet Centre are small mammals and reptiles including rabbits and guinea pigs who love to be stroked and cuddled. Head to the tractor barn for a ride on a mini tractor, dig in 'The Pit' or play in the adventure play area. You can refuel with something to eat in the picnic area or café. Just a tractor ride away is Holyfield Hall Farm, a modern diary and arable farm where you can see the cows being milked (from 2.45 to 4.15pm) and learn about how dairy products are made.
