A legacy of the 2012 London Olympics, the state of the art £1.1m Burgess Park BMX Track opened to the public in August 2013, a year after the Games. The floodlit undulating track at Burgess Park is home to Peckham BMX Club, one of the country's top teams, and is available to members of the public. The minimum age for open use of the track is 8 years but there are sessions catering for all abilities, including introductions for riders as young as two years old. Riders using the BMX track are required to take an accreditation session to make sure they have the skills and confidence required to tackle the course. This one hour session costs £15 (£12 concession price) and includes bike hire and coaching. Another cycling legacy of the Olympics is the Lee Valley VeloPark, the converted Olympics velodrome, which will include a remodelled Olympic BMX circuit alongside new mountain bike trails, and a floodlit road circuit when it opens on 4th March 2014.
