Holborn Tube Station is a busy hub between the City and the West End where the Central Line and the Piccadilly Line intersect. There are also regular buses that stop outside the station and run down Kingsway towards Waterloo station, or in the opposite direction, to Kings Cross. Holborn tube often overcrowds during rush hour, resulting in the staff resorting to close the entrance during periods of heavy congestion (which usually coincides with periods of heavy rainfall). Covent Garden and Soho are both short walks from Holborn.
