One year after former Gaucho Restaurants managing director, Martin Williams, opened M Restaurants in the City, M Victoria brings the same concept to SW1. Housed in the Zig Zag Building, the M in Victoria combines two restaurants, a boutique wine store and bar area, private dining rooms, and a secret members club complete with mini cinema. The first restaurant is an international grill restaurant specialising in quality steak cuts from around the world, including high grade kobe beef. The second restaurant, RAW, features Asian-inspired dishes such as tartares, sushi and sashimi, bao and tiraditos. The wine shop offers speciality wines which cannot be found in the average off licence and there are regular tastings on offer, seated around a central tasting table which can accommodate up to 20. Michael Reid, who trained at both Le Gavroche and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, is executive chef. Most recently he has worked with celebrity chef Shannon Bennet, spent time with George Calombaris and Peter Gilmore as well as cooking alongside Heston Blumenthal at The Skinny Duck, Melbourne.
