This unique club under Shepherd's Bush Green in a former public toilet has escaped a threatened closure early in 2009. Thanks to the untiring efforts of Ginglik's organisers Tam and Col the much loved underground club has had a reprieve. Live music, lots of excellent DJs, comedy nights are supplemented by a monthly short film night hosted by Future Shorts. It's dark, dingy and utterly individual. You never know what you might find - Robin Williams did a surprise gig here one dark November night and my cousin Gabby appeared with her 'Other Animals' band another time. Despite some starry guests the place remains resolutely down to earth (literally). London could do with more places like this. Just watch out for the really torrential downpours - when it's cats and dogs it's likely to be a bit soggy on the inside too.
