On the ground floor of the stylish Charlotte Street Hotel Oscar Bar and Restaurant is a bold, bright bistro where modern British classics like grilled Dover sole and roast chicken are served. Oscar, named after the films screened at the hotel's adjacent private cinema, is decorated with huge murals depicting contemporary life painted in the Bloomsbury style. The bar gets busy and buzzing in the evenings, but never uncomfortably so. It's a popular place with the local media crowd who come for after-work cocktails like the Oscar Limeade - Grey Goose vodka and apricot brandy muddled with fresh lime.
