    Grange Hotels, London

    London Grange Hotels

The Grange hotel group specialises in luxury hotels with a strong portfolio of four-star and two five-star hotels in central London and City locations. The 34-bedroom Lancaster hotel, a converted Georgian townhouse, is the groupís only three-star property.

There are five Bloomsbury Collection boutique hotels (which donít carry the Grange name) and a good spread of Grange hotels near key attractions such as the West End, Covent Garden, the Tower of London, and St Paulís in the City.

All of the four-star hotels offer meetings and conference facilities and range in size from the 26-room Grange Blooms Hotel in Russell Square to the 370-room Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, a new breed of eco-friendly hotel launched in June 2011.

Both of the larger City-based, five-star properties - at Grange City near Tower Hill and Grange St Paul's - include a Ďfemale-friendlyí wing which caters especially for businesswomen offering extra security, spyholes in the doors, a wider selection of herbal teas, spa toiletries, a vanity mirror, fashion magazines and hair straighteners.

For those in search of a relaxing spa and health club, the best choices are the groupís two five-star hotels, the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel and the first hotel to open - the 307-bedroom Grange City hotel in Southampton Row, which includes a lovely 25-metre Greco-Roman style swimming pool.

If you prefer your hotel to have a history, the Grange group can offer several Georgian and Victorian townhouses as well as some properties with an interesting past. The 200-bed Grange Holborn, for example, was converted from a Ministry of Defence building, while the Grange Strathmore was the former residence of the late Queen Motherís father, the Earl of Strathmore.

For rooms with a view, try the Grange White Hall and the Grange Blooms hotels, both overlook or adjoin the British Museum, while the Grange City Hotel is ďjust a gemstone's throw away from the Tower of LondonĒ.

The group, owned by three brothers, Harpal, Raj and Tony Matharu, offers a strong portfolio of hotels from boutique townhouse hotels to modern office blocks converted into luxury hotels.
